Common Ground: An Interactive Public Health Simulation
How do everyday choices, community conditions, and public health decisions shape access to health and resources?
Common Ground invites you to explore these connections from two perspectives. Play as a resident navigating care, food, housing, transportation, and work—or as a public health director leading a one-year, $350,000 pilot focused on cardiovascular health or cancer quality improvement.
Your choices influence available resources, partnerships, community trust, and access to services. Each decision reveals tradeoffs and connects individual experiences with social determinants of health, health policy, and program implementation.
Designed for classroom learning, professional development, and facilitated trainings, Common Ground encourages participants to examine who is reached, who is missed, and what meaningful progress looks like.
Play, reflect, and discuss: What would you change—and who needs to be involved?
Common Ground uses fictional community data and illustrative game mechanics. Scores and outcomes are learning tools, not predictions of real-world health results.
